Although the weather outside might be frightful, you
can still find plenty of ways to make inside so delightful. Potted plants are
an underrated way to bring a little extra life into your living space. Even if
you don’t have a green thumb, you can still make a splash in your home with
some artificial plants.
So where do you start? Never fear. We’ll give you a few ideas to help bring
some color (specifically, green) to your home.
Make Visitors Green with Envy
Of course, let’s start with plants. Seems obvious, right? If you’re the sort of person who has a natural green thumb, there’s nothing like the freshness and texture you can get from real plants. Not to mention the added benefits of reduced stress and cleaner air.
If
you have trouble with plants, don't worry. Artificial plants (which, we have plenty to
pick from) are becoming an increasingly popular choice to decorate your
home or office, given that they require significantly less maintenance. All the visual vibrancy and morale boosting benefits without quite as much fuss or clean
up.
Either way, getting plants to spruce up your home is only the first step.
Choosing
a Greener Lifestyle
With your newfound garden of paradise underway,
the next step is making sure you’ve got a great place for them.
If you’re going
with real plants, it's important to do your research and make sure you know how much light and water your new plants will need. Not all plants are the same and may require more or less watering and sunlight then others. Once that's settled, make sure that you have a perfect spot in your home to accommodate them.
Even if you’re
bringing home artificial plants, it’s still important to keep your space in
mind and how your plants are going to fit into it. As with their natural counterparts, artificial plants come in all shapes and sizes. Make sure you do a little planning ahead of time for your newest addition to your home (if table space is a commodity, maybe look into hanging planters. Or consider placing it on a bookshelf). It would be terrible to have a plant you don't have room for. Also remember, although feeding your plant
and getting it sunlight won’t be concerns, artificial plants still need maintenance. Make sure you're wiping them down with a damp cloth or dusting them accordingly to keep them clean.
Small
Touches Make for Greener Pastures
While you’re probably already thrilled with all the
extra life you’ve added to your space, you may still feel like something is still
missing.
One option to consider is trying other
ways to add color. If you have the option to add a little paint or some
backsplash, either extra green or a color that is complimentary to green can be just the extra bit of flavor
your space is craving. You can also add some décor (again, either green or a complimentary color) to really help make your home or office pop.
Growing
Your Home into Something Beautiful
Now you’re ready to plant the seed and watch it
grow into something beautiful in your home. Still, you might not be sure where
to start.
Fortunately, we’re once again here to help. We’ve included a few staff
favorites to consider as well. Read on to have a look, and when you're done, you can find the following items that are listed (and everything else that's been shown so far) here.
